321 Stainless Steel Strip is an 18/8 austenitic stainless steel (304) stabilized with titanium. It does not undergo intergranular corrosion when heated in the carbide precipitation temperature range of 425-850°C. 321 stainless steel can be used for applications in the temperature range up to about 900°C. It combines high strength, anti-oxidative scaling and subsequent phase stability against aqueous corrosion.

Ti exists in 321 Stainless Steel Strip as a stabilizing element, but it is also a heat-strength steel, which is much better than 316L in high temperature. 321 stainless steel has good corrosion resistance in organic and inorganic acids of different concentrations and temperatures, especially in oxidizing media. It can be used to manufacture the lining of wear-resistant acid containers and wear-resistant equipment, and conveying pipelines.

Production:

Hot rolled stainless steel strip is a semifinished product obtained from the hot rolling of slabs or billets and is produced for conversion by cold rolling.

Cold rolled stainless steel strip is manufactured from hot rolled, annealed and pickled strip by cold rolling on polished rolls. Depending on the thickness desired, the cold rolling requires various numbers of passes through the mill to effect the necessary reduction and to secure the desired surface characteristics and mechanical properties. Only three rolled (unpolished) finishes (No. 1, No. 2 and bright annealed) and one polished finish (mill buffed) are commonly supplied on stainless steel strip.
